What a great way to start the New Year with a new listing! This one has been a work in progress; but, often times sellers are not ready to sell when you first meet them. I first met this seller back in July of 2016 at a local community event. He expressed his interest to sell quickly, but he had a few things to do before listing. Nevertheless, he wanted me to come over and look at his home and give him an idea of improvements needed and a suggested price. I so enjoyed my visit with my sellers (I met his wife when I went for my first visit), but realized it would be awhile before they were ready to list their home.
Throughout the next few months we kept in touch. They would send me pictures of some cool things they were doing in their home. I would drop by and check it out first hand. The husband homeowner discovered he was very talented and thoroughly enjoys home renovation projects. So much so, that he is starting a side business providing these services. After inspecting his work, I agree he has quite a gift. I recommended him to some other clients for some little jobs they need done in the home I just sold them. So now, he has his first job doing something he loves!
Finally, a few days ago, after the rush of the holiday season ended, they informed me they were ready. Pictures were taken, details gathered , agreements were signed, and their home is now on the market! This is what is great about my job — throughout the last 6 months of conversations and visits with my clients our relationship has also grown into a friendship. This happens so frequently in my business. Often times you spend months with frequent contact with strangers in the beginning. But, often times, by the end of the business relationship, a personal friendship has developed. Friendship – quite a nice bonus in any job!
