Real Estate and the Flu
I cannot have the flu
So, yeah, just as the pre spring shoppers and early tax return receivers are gearing up to start looking for the home of their dreams, yours truly comes down with the flu! I actually argued with my body for two days and ignored the symptoms attributing it to allergies, a cold, maybe just run down. There was absolutely no way I could have the flu. Come on, I taught 6th graders for 30 years and didn’t get the dreaded virus. How in the world could I get the flu from showing property? My clients are surely less contagious than 12 year olds!
Time to seek treatment
On day 3, after checking my 101 temperature, I drug my sniveling, achy body to the local walk in clinic to get the confirmation. I knew I really felt badly when I didn’t even insist upon removing my shoes or coat to be weighed. The scale’s number did not phase me today. Most of all, I just wanted something to make the chills, aches, cough and congestion go away. The nurse rammed a long Q-tip up my nose and in about 10 minutes the dreaded delivery on the flu confirmation. I ask the doctor for Tamiflu. She prescribed it but really thought I had been exhibiting symptoms too long for it to have much effect. Apparently, I was not the only local resident to get this diagnosis. I had to go to three pharmacies before I found one that had the medicine in stock.
Home and rest
I drove into my driveway on Tuesday morning and popped my first dose of Tamiflu before collapsing in the bed – for two days. On day three, I decided I may live and got out of bed to check my emails. Oh boy! Do you have any idea how many emails a real estate agent gets each day? Seriously, it took an hour just to go through and address the imperative ones and delete the time killers.
Back to Real Estate
Tomorrow (Monday) will be my first day back to work. Of course, I will hit the ground running! I already have clients scheduled to show property in the morning. The plumber and I will rendezvous at a listing that has some repair requests. Then, I will work in the office some tomorrow afternoon. I am looking so forward to getting back to doing what I love!
I’m not contagious anymore so call me at 903-875-4164 if you would like to buy or sell a home!
